What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with a Sweet Love dessert party. There are so many fun, easy ways to celebrate this holiday- especially with your kids! Start the day with a sweet breakfast of heart shaped pancakes and strawberries. After school, celebrate with a dessert table filled with valentine treats. We made red velvet whoopie pies in the shape of hearts, sugar cookies, strawberry cake with a whipped cream frosting, and message cupcakes.
The dessert table was filled with lots of fun red and white desserts. We made punch using fruit punch and sprite, and added heart shaped ice cubes. I found the silicone ice cube tray in the dollar section at Target. William Sonoma sells an adorable cookie cutter set that allows you to imprint messages into the cookies. We used it to make cookies that said I Love You, Sweet Thing, and Be Mine. You could easily leave the cookies as is, or use icing to add a few decorations.
My favorite part about the valentine’s desserts were these sweet message cupcakes. You can make regular chocolate cupcakes or brownies in cupcake liners, and add a thin layer of chocolate frosting or leave unfrosted. Using white frosting with a thin tip, carefully write messages such as love, sweet, and kiss to the top.
