My toddler has recently become fascinated with Minnie Mouse. I thought it would be fun to throw her and her little bestie a Minnie Mouse Valentine’s Day Party during their weekly playdate. It was easy to edit my Minnie Mouse Birthday party into a Valentine’s Day Party with a few quick tweaks. And an hour walking through Target and a few snacks later and we were ready for a party.
I hung up some red and pink streamers behind their little table. My original plan was to twist them all and tape them at the bottom. Once they were all hung up I liked the way it looked just hanging straight, and liked the time I saved not twisting and taping them all to the floor. I found the cute pink XOXO balloon at Target to go behind their table.
For the table I used a regular white tablecloth with a few strips of crepe paper to add some color. I also cut some pieces of gold glitter paper for placemats. Of course none of this stayed on the table for long but they had fun rearranging it.
When the girls first arrived I had them sit at the table and gave them their Minnie Mouse ears. They thought that was really fun and both wore them the entire day. Then we made necklaces with plastic heart beads and pipe cleaners. They had fun stinging them on and making different patterns. C’s little friend also insisted on making one for her mommy. So sweet!
Lunch was super simple with sandwiches cut out like hearts and pink goldfish. I also put juice into cute little plastic cups with Minnie Mouse labels and a red straw. I thought for sure at least one of them would spill but they were so excited about it they were extra careful. After lunch we played a stacking game with candy hearts. Neither of them realized that they were candy, so they were content to try and stack as many of the little pastel hearts as they could before tipping over.
Later that week I expanded the party for our playgroup and put out more food and drinks. I still kept it simple with sandwiches, popcorn, goldfish, cupcakes, juice, and a few valentine candies. I added a Be Mine Minnie Mouse banner to the front of the table along with some heart garland. I edited the Happy Birthday Signs to now say Happy Valentine’s Day and LOVE with a Minnie theme. My daughter’s Pottery Barn cart worked great for the drinks, and Minnie even got to join in the highchair.
Happy Planning,
