Thanksgiving Kids Table

November 4, 2019 By Holly 4 Comments Filed Under: Kids DIY & Crafts, Thanksgiving

Having kids at your Thanksgiving festivities? Here are a few simple ideas to add to your kids table.

Table Decorations: Start by covering the table in white or brown craft paper. To add some fall fun to our kids table, cut leaves out of fun card stock and string them from the ceiling. Real leaves & pumpkins are also easy decorations for the table. Don’t be afraid to use real dishes- these small china plates match the dishes at the adult table and fun glasses found at a local thrift shop complete the look.

Place Cards- Name tags made out of mini caramel apples let kids know where to sit. Instead of a normal popsicle stick, use sticks from your yard for a fun rustic look. We dipped the apples in caramel and placed them in cupcake liners for a no mess treat after dinner. Add small paper flags with kids names to the top of each one. The small caramel apples make great place cards, and are an added dessert or can be sent home for later.

Tablecloth: Since the table is covered in white paper, leave out crayons or markers so kids can keep busy drawing pictures and playing games (tic-tac-toe, anyone?) after dinner.

Thankful Box: Thanksgiving is a great time to remember all that we are thankful for. You can create these simple ‘thankful boxes’ to help kids write, draw, and remember all the things they have to be thankful for this year.

Using a small altoids tins, spray paint the outside white or cover in fun paper. Using a sheet of white card stock, cut the paper the length of the tin (about 3″). Fold the paper back and forth, making each section about 2.5″. Tape or glue the last fold to the bottom of the tin. Give kids markers and pens to write and draw what they are thankful for this year.

Such a cute table with so much fun! My kids are adults and they still want to sit at the “cousin” table because of so many years of fun and laughter!

She insisted on dressing up like Reba McEntire, and thanks to her new love of country music I now know all the words to ‘Consider Me Gone’. Happy Halloween from the Queen of Country Music and her dinosaur sidekick. 🎃🎤🦖
