DIY Easter Egg Mail

April 8, 2017 By Holly 8 Comments Filed Under: Creative Kids Gifts, Easter, Kids DIY & Crafts

A few years ago when I was living in California I read somewhere that you could mail someone an easter egg. Just the egg- without a box! I thought this was the funniest thing and loved the idea of someone opening their mailbox and finding an easter egg inside. Since I wasn’t going to be able to travel home that year to see my family, this would have to do. I went to Target (duh) to pick up a pack of large plastic eggs, candy, and small toys. After filling them up I used clear packing tape over the seal so they wouldn’t break open during their journey to Minnesota. I got a few funny looks at the post office when I dropped them off, and half expected the person working to tell me I couldn’t mail easter eggs. But instead they printed the postage labels and off they went.

Easily mail your friends or family an easter egg!

My brother wouldn’t open his easter egg mail because he thought it was a prank. I’m not sure what he thought would be inside, but was pleasantly  surprised when he found only candy and tiny toy chicks.

Did you know you can MAIL SOMEONE AN EASTER EGG? Grab a plastic easter egg and some candy and make someone's day! #11cupcakes #DIY #eastergames #DIYeaster #eastermail #eastercrafts #targetfun

How cute!! My kids would go nuts for these if they got one in the mailbox!
How funny your brother wouldn’t open his.. I’d probably have the same initial reaction with the scary state of the world right now.
Such a cute surprise for Easter! Thanks for the idea 🙂

Didn’t know you could make and ship items like this. How fun to make and receive.

This is the best idea ever! My mom, sister, and nephew all live in California. Rather then sending a big expensive box of Easter candy I am going to try this!

Those are adorable! I didn’t realize you could send items like that without them being in an official package!

This is the coolest thing! My sister lives across the country and I’d love to mail her something fun like this for a late easter gift!
