An Easter Egg Guessing Game
After Easter brunch, entertain your guests with a simple guessing game that requires almost no prep and is guaranteed to spark laughter and friendly competition. This Easter egg guessing game works just as well for adults as it does for kids, making it perfect for family gatherings, parties, or even classroom celebrations.
Before your guests arrive, fill a large plastic Easter egg with small, everyday items you find around your house—think tiny objects that make different sounds and textures when shaken. Let everyone know ahead of time how many items are inside (in our case, 23 items) and give each guest a small piece of paper and a pen. We set a two-minute time limit and had everyone write their guesses on small bunny sticky notes.
Once time is up, gather everyone together and start revealing the contents one item at a time. As each object is pulled out, guests earn one point if they guessed it correctly. The person with the most correct guesses at the end wins! You can keep the prize simple—candy, a small toy, or even bragging rights.
This game is easy to customize for different ages. For younger kids, use fewer items and stick to more familiar objects. For adults, the more random the better. The anticipation of each reveal is half the fun, and it’s always entertaining to see how creative (or wildly incorrect) some guesses can be.

The items in our egg included: a cotton ball, ribbon, key, screw, bobby pin, penny, Altoid, floss, jelly bean, nail, paper clip, button, fortune cookie fortune, lint, battery, twist tie, cough drop, earring, pop tab, push pin, safety pin, rubber band, and a stamp—twenty-three items in all!
And did you know you can mail an easter egg?

[…] Easter Egg Guess: I love this idea of finding random (and tiny) household objects, putting them inside an Easter egg, and having each player make a list of everything they think is inside! There’s no way anyone will know all of the things, it’s a real stumper! […]
