Circus Baby Shower

July 21, 2015 By Holly 4 Comments Filed Under: Baby Showers, Celebrate, Circus Party, Free Downloads

There were so many fun details to this Circus Party Baby Shower that would be easy to recreate. From the crepe paper circus tent to the large marquee letter to the circus ‘elephant steps’ and ticket garland. My favorite thing was the circus tent over the table that was made from crepe paper streamers. Starting at the center of the table, we taped a piece of crepe paper to the wall and twisted it down until it reached behind the table, securing it with painters tape. Once the tent went all the way to the right and left, we brought it out to the sides of the table creating a small canopy over the table. A coral piece of cardstock cut into a flag made the perfect addition to the top of the tent.

I found a coral tablecloth at Target that matched the color palette perfectly, along with a white beverage tub that we flipped over to make look like elephant steps. Coral, aqua and yellow bunting with elephants and seals was strung over the fireplace along with lots of elephants and monkeys.

Using coral colored carnival tickets that I found at a local party store, I stapled them into circles and strung them along as fun party garland.

Circus party food for this shower included mini hamburgers, circus peanuts, animal crackers, grape balloon animals, popcorn, mini donuts, homemade caramel corn and mini cupcakes.

I purchased this 23″ paper mache letter B on Amazon. After cutting off the top of the letter with an xacto knife, I painted the top and sides using a coral gloss spray paint. Once the letter was dry I marked off on the back where I wanted the lights to go. Then cutting a small x with an exacto knife, unscrew the lightbulb from the cord and push the cord part through the back of the letter. Once they are all pushed through, screw the light bulbs back into the sockets. There are many DIY tutorials on how to make marquee letters that you can find online.

Small triangle garland that matched the Congratulations banner was strung along the top of the elephant step that displayed the marquee letter B.

Mini chocolate and vanilla cupcakes were served with customized cupcake toppers and circus food labels.

Circus party invitations were designed to match the food labels and were mailed to guests 4 weeks before the shower. I designed the invitation as a baby shower invite but it could easily be re-done for a birthday party.

The homemade caramel corn was a huge hit and super easy to make. We served it in these small paper bowls using cupcake toppers as labels. The circus tent food labels matched the invitations and banner.

This is adorable! It looks beautiful, but as you mentioned, also easy to recreate. I love the tablescape and all of the themed food. I especially love that the food could be made in advance! Such cute ideas!

She insisted on dressing up like Reba McEntire, and thanks to her new love of country music I now know all the words to ‘Consider Me Gone’. Happy Halloween from the Queen of Country Music and her dinosaur sidekick. 🎃🎤🦖
