One of the biggest ‘challenges’ of planning was my desire for color, while my husband would wanted everything to be classic (as in no polka dots). My favorite compromise was the bridal party. I choose simple navy bridesmaid dresses from Target (Target sells bridesmaid dresses now!) and let them pick their own style as long as they were all navy. Then they each got to choose their own color heel, and I ordered bouquets to match. I am not much of a flower person and the only direction I gave our florist was asking to create a bouquet in each color, with mine being white with all the other colors. Luckily she has great taste, and the flowers turned out fabulous. It was a beautiful rainbow of color (while still remaining somewhat classy!)
To tie in with the bridesmaids, the groomsmen wore charcoal suite with navy gingham shirts and navy ties. Ed had a white shirt with a navy gingham tie, which worked nicely with my white (duh) dress.
