Using apples as a stamp has long been a favorite craft. It’s a great way to use those apples that might be a little too bruised for eating or are too tart for your recipes. We think making an apple stamped tote would make a great party favor for your apple picking party! It is a great tote to take to the farmer’s market, grocery store, and of course the apple orchard!
We used a basic canvas tote from the craft store, red and green fabric paint, an apple, and a sharpie marker. Be sure to have a piece of cardboard or some newspaper to slip inside your tote (where you will be stamping) so that the paint/ink does not leak through.
Dip an apple half in the red paint and then stamp carefully onto your tote. Our little green leaf is a thumbprint. Our stem was made with a fine point permanent marker.
Finally we added the year underneath the apple, with hopes that next year after apple picking we’ll add a new apple stamp and thumbprint leaf. It will be a great way to remember all those fun times from the fall.
