When my son turned five, we wanted to celebrate with something simple, fun, and full of sunshine. We decided to host his birthday at our community HOA pool and invited neighbors, school friends, and their families to join us for a relaxed summer bash. We kept decorations playful and low-key—colorful pool noodles lined the fence […]

October 13, 2014 By Holly Leave a Comment Filed Under: Celebrate, Dinner Party, Taste of DC

Taste of DC Dessert Contest | When guests first arrived, they were asked to fill out a card telling everyone what their dessert was and where it came from. Then they cut it into 6-8 servings and left it on display while everyone had dinner. After dinner everyone was encouraged to try multiple kinds of desserts and vote for their favorite. Desserts ranged from cupcakes, pie, cake, gelato, truffles, cake pops, and brownies. The winners received gift cards to popular restaurants around the city.

She insisted on dressing up like Reba McEntire, and thanks to her new love of country music I now know all the words to ‘Consider Me Gone’. Happy Halloween from the Queen of Country Music and her dinosaur sidekick. 🎃🎤🦖
