A Teeny Tiny Baby Shower with All Things Mini

When I was growing up, I was completely fascinated by anything that came in miniature form. And I still am :) I was that kid—the one who carefully tucked the tiny ketchup bottles and jam jars from room service into her bag to take home. The one who repurposed the little white plastic “tables” from pizza boxes as furniture for my dolls. There was something magical about things that were perfectly scaled down. Maybe it was that they fit right into the palm of my hand, or that I could carry tiny replicas of everyday objects in my pocket like secret treasures. Whatever the reason, miniature things always felt special to me.

That love never really went away. Even now, spotting something miniature instantly makes me smile and brings back that same sense of delight and wonder. So when it came time to celebrate a good friend of mine—who happens to share the exact same love for all things tiny—it only made sense to throw her baby shower in miniature form.

We leaned fully into the theme, using itsy bitsy, teeny tiny party supplies and bite-sized food to create a shower that felt both playful and thoughtful. From scaled-down treats to petite decorations, everything about the celebration felt intentional and charming. It was the perfect way to honor this mom-to-be. The miniature details also made the setup surprisingly easy. Since smaller items take up less space and require fewer supplies overall.

This baby shower was hosted at work, which made things even more convenient. With limited time and space, the miniature theme allowed us to create a festive, cohesive look without going over the top. It came together quickly and still felt incredibly special.

While we used this theme for a baby shower, an itsy bitsy miniature party would also work beautifully for a first birthday, a little girl’s doll-themed party, or even a whimsical tea party. It’s a sweet, versatile idea that brings out everyone’s inner child. And it proves that sometimes, the smallest details make the biggest impact.

Tiny Decorations

Decorations for this miniature themed party included tiny bunting and tiny blue balloons which were water balloons found here. Tiny 3mm pom poms are used for confetti, and my personal favorite- tiny party hats. The tiny bear was found at a local craft store. The little banner was made using tape and a toothpick.

Tiny Party Food & Drinks

Party food consisted of finger sandwiches and pasta salad served in small bowls. Lemonade was served in tiny mason jar mugs we found at a local craft store. In addition, mini muffins, bite sized cookies, chocolates, and donuts (all the mom-to-be’s favorites!). To make tiny napkins and straws, simply cut about 1/4 the length off, and trim the napkins so they measure 2″x 2″.

Happy Planning,
