Clothespins in a milk jug is a classic party game and with great reason. The supplies are easily available and children of all ages are able to play.
For a Zoo Party we wanted to add something to this game to fit our theme. We decided to use the birthday boy’s favorite animal as inspiration to make this into a game we call Feeding Time.
Supplies Needed: For the basic game milk jug and clothespins. For our version we got crafty and added to those supplies.
We made penguin out of scrapbook paper and attached it to the jug. We then decorated clothespins with blue paper and a fish shape we cut out freehand.
How to Play:
Place the milk jug on the floor.
One by one let each child take a turn feeding the penguin by trying to drop the clothespins into the milk jug.
To make the game harder to you can blindfold the children as they take their turns.
To help keep children from getting too close to the top of the milk jug you can have them kneel on the seat of chair instead of standing up.
It would be great to make an entire menagerie and let several children play at once and it is much cuter than the supplies we started with.
Be sure to come back tomorrow for another game!
