Cupcake Toppers: Itty Bitty Polaroids

July 13, 2011 By Holly 1 Comment Filed Under: Kids DIY & Crafts

We started off this week with our 11th cupcake post of our free July cupcake topper.  We’ll have two additional cupcake topper ideas this week plus on Friday a sneak peek at our next party guide!

Today we’re sharing this simple craft to make Polaroid style  photograph cupcake toppers.

You’ll need:
An old photograph where the subject(s) are approximately 1″ x 1″
White cardstock (we’re upcycling some old business cards)
Small food picks/skewers (tooth picks, lollipop sticks, straws would all work fine too)
Glue
Scissors

Instructions:
1. Cut the subjects of your photographs into 1″ x 1″ squares.
2. Glue the photos to your card stock. Leaving space in between them to cut them out.
3. Cut your photographs to leave a thin boarder on the left, top, and right sides.
4.Cut the card stock so that you leave a larger boarder on the bottom (approximately 2 or 3 times as much as the thin border).

5. Write on your itty bitty Polaroids labeling the subjects.  Leaving them blank is just as cute too.
6. Attach them to your food picks and let them dry.

These yummy cupcakes came from Bleeding Heart Bakery in Oak Park, Illinois.
These little cupcake toppers are fit to be framed.  In addition to being cute these itty bitty Polaroids make great place cards too. Enjoy!

Welcome to northern Minnesota, circa 1995. My Grandpa built me a dollhouse for my 5th birthday, and 30 years later, I gave it back to him. For the first six months of the pandemic I transformed the tiny house into a replica of my grandparent’s house circa 1995, re-creating some of my favorite memories of holidays and summers gathered together as a family at their Minnesota lake home. The remodel started when my family got stuck at my parents during the stay-at-home orders, and when it looked like we would be there a while, I dusted off the old dollhouse to create something new. The original plan was to make it look more modern. Then, I got the idea to make it a miniature version of my favorite place on earth. Although it only stands 3 feet tall, it is full of tiny details and some of my favorite childhood memories. #11cupcakes #artistherapy #dollhouseminiatures #dollhouseminiature #dollhousetherapy #dollhousetour #miniatures #covidprojects #covidproject @mforminiatures

She insisted on dressing up like Reba McEntire, and thanks to her new love of country music I now know all the words to ‘Consider Me Gone’. Happy Halloween from the Queen of Country Music and her dinosaur sidekick. 🎃🎤🦖
