Last February my church, Waterfront Church DC, hosted a Night to Shine at the Nationals Stadium in Washington, DC. Night to Shine is a prom for people ages 14 and older with special needs, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation and hosted by churches around the country. I was able to help with decorating our space […]
When Redeemer City Church asked if I would throw their first Harvest Festival, I WAS IN. They wanted to create a fun afternoon filled with games, prizes, crafts, food and music that the entire neighborhood would enjoy. Flyers were sent out to houses in the area and given to kids at neighboring schools. Overall it […]
I recently had the pleasure of planning a celebration picnic following the launch of a new church in Washington, DC. Redeemer City Church was having their first service in September and asked that I plan a fun afternoon with games and food for everyone who was helping and attending later that afternoon. Since the party […]
When guests first arrived, they were asked to fill out a card telling everyone what their dessert was and where it came from. Then they cut it into 6-8 servings and left it on display while everyone had dinner. After dinner everyone was encouraged to try multiple kinds of desserts and vote for their favorite. […]

Another idea for a great activity station is face painting. anybody can grab a paintbrush and try their hand at easy works of art such as flowers, balloons, and butterflies. at a party where the kids will be dressed up, it is fun to be able to add to the kids costumes.
When I was little my brother and I used to watch bozo the clown. This pumpkin toss game was inspired by the ball toss game at the end of every show. With plastic pumpkins from target, have the kids toss ping pong balls into the pumpkins, with them lined up getting farther and farther away […]
Instead of bobbing for apples, the kids went bobbing for doughnuts. They had to eat a doughnut off of a ribbon without using their hands without letting it fall to the ground. Powdered sugar doughnuts were a lot of fun, especially if the ribbon was moving a lot 🙂
Food for the harvest party included a pumpkin cake, witch cupcakes, leaf brownies, candy corn cookies, harvest chex mix, and spooky ghost punch!
